Micaiah June - Second 2023 Alabama UPMA Scholarship Winner
Daughter of Carla Stacey
Today, we had planned to be at Luverne High School to present our 2nd 2023 Alabama UPMA Scholarship to this beautiful young lady, Micaiah Grace June, daughter of Carla Stacey. She has amazing accomplishments and plans to pursue a career in the medical field at the University of Alabama. Today, Micaiah will not be in Luverne, because like so many champions, she is out pursuing another goal! She plays catcher ( please think about being on your knees for hours, while one person is throwing fast balls directly toward you and another is swinging a bat within inches of your head) on the Luverne Softball team and they are in the Class 2 A Regional Championship game today at 1:45! We will celebrate Micaiah's scholarship another day but today it's GO LURVERNE TIGERS!!

“I along with several other Veterans participated in the retiring of six American Flags this past Saturday, and interning them to the vault pictured on Sunday morning before sunrise. It was a small informal ceremony honoring those that gave all for our Country, holding special reverence as it was done one day before the 78th anniversary of D-day.” - Marc Davis
Every year, the Alabama UPMA Board looks for something new to bring to the Chapter Convention. This year’s venue, Cheaha State Park, is the location of the scene on the 2019 Alabama Bicentennial stamp. The meeting room is historic, the scenery is beautiful and there is a Vault in the State Park for flag ashes (please see the article below for the history). Less than six months from the first ashes being placed in the Vault, UPMA will be having a memorial ceremony to honor any Alabama Postal Employees that have passed away.
