You should understand that even though a Postmaster approves their own leave up to 40 hours you still have to submit a copy of your PS FORM 3971 to your MPOO. Remember that any leave over 40 REQUIRES approval from your MPOO in advance. Whenever you are required or have to work your NS Day due to unforeseen circumstances then you should also submit a PS FORM 3971 to your MPOO as documentation that you have worked your off day.
